Lebanon -- Virgil Pittman, 70 of Rt. 4, Lebanon died Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at his home after suffering a heart attack. Born in Montgomery County near Crawfordsville on March 23, 1898, he was a son of Richard and Emma Skelton Pittman. He was married to Edna Wynkoop in Lebanon July 7, 1920. Mr. Pittman, a farmer near Max for 48 years was a member of Dover Christian Church and Modern Woodmen of America Lodge of which he was secretary. Surviving are the widow; two sons, Robert and Carl; six grandchildre, one great, a brother Pearl and a sister Mrs. Martha Bowman. Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. Funeral rites will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday here at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Duff & James Hannabohn officiating. Burial in Old Union Cemetery. Friends may pay respects at the funeral home. kbz
